Part of achieving this future depends on innovation, in which the world’s young generation of scientists, researchers and engineers can play a critical role. The China Association for Science and Technology and the People's Government of Zhejiang have successfully held the World Young Scientist Summit (WYSS) in 2019, 2020 and 2021, with an aim to promote exchanges and mutual learning, strengthen cooperation in science,as well as to enable more young scientists to realize their aspirations. In 2020, the UN Secretary-General António Guterres sent special congratulatory letters to all participants, demonstrating the importance UN place on the world’s youth towards shaping the future.
