At the 2022 World Young Scientist Summit “Innovation China” Technical Service and Trade Conference-Digital Economy Special Session, Zhang Guihua, member of the Party Leadership Group and Secretary of the Secretariat of China Association for Science and Technology, expressed ardent hope for Wenzhou and said that he would fully support the high-quality development of Wenzhou’s digital economy.

Zhang said that developing digital economy is of great significance and is a strategic choice to grasp the new opportunities of the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. This year’s “Government Work Report” of the National People’s Congress clearly stated that it is necessary to “promote the development of digital economy and strengthen the overall layout of digital China construction”. China Association for Science and Technology closely focuses on the strategic deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on the development of digital economy, fully promotes the construction of digital China, helps the deep integration and quality improvement of digital economy and real economy, starts the construction of “Innovation China”, builds a national public technical service and trading platform, and supports high-quality development with scientific and technological innovation.

The Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province attach great importance to the pilot work of “Innovation China” in Zhejiang, and include “Building a Model Room of ‘Innovation China’ in Zhejiang” in the “14th Five-Year Plan” and the outline of the long-term goal in 2035. Last May, Wenzhou was selected as a national pilot city of “Innovation China”. Wenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal People’s Government attached great importance to it, organized the formulation of the Three-year Action Plan for Pilot City Construction (2021-2023), took the “ World Young Scientist Summit” as an important carrier to undertake the platform resources of “Innovation China” and empower Wenzhou to develop with high quality, built a global entrepreneurial innovation base for young scientific and technological talents, and set up a digital matrix of “Innovation Wenzhou”, making Wenzhou the third among 65 pilot cities of “Innovation China” platform.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s earnest entrustment to “continue to write the history of innovation”. At a new historical starting point, Zhang hoped that Wenzhou will give full play to the role of “Innovation China” as a bridge for the integration of production, education and research, explore the establishment of a cooperative mechanism with relevant parties such as national societies and science and technology service groups, and create a “Wenzhou model” with deep integration of digital economy and real economy. He said that the China Association for Science and Technology will, as always, support the construction of Wenzhou’s “Innovation China” pilot city, give more guidance in building a collaborative innovation platform, gathering cross-border innovative talents, optimizing the allocation of scientific and technological resources, and sink more resources to promote the high-quality development of Wenzhou’s digital economy.
