From April 2 to April 3, Party Secretary and Vice Chairman of the Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology Zheng Jinping led a delegation to visit the Shanghai Association of Science and Technology and World Laureates Association for symposiums regarding the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and the World Young Scientist (Wenzhou) Summit. Provincial Association of Science and Technology leaders Jiang Changcai, Xie Muren, and Dai Li were all in attendance.
At the Shanghai Association of Science and Technology, the delegation led by Zheng Jinping toured the Shanghai City Science Hall and held a forum with Shanghai Association of Science and Technology leaders. Party Secretary and Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology Ma Xingfa, party group member, vice chairman Li Hongming and other leaders attended the forum. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on the high-end intelligent alliance of the Yangtze River Delta and the World Youth Scientist (Wenzhou) Summit. They agreed that strengthening the close ties between the two Science and Technology Associations is a necessary measure to actively integrate into the national strategy, expand international horizons, and strengthen regional cooperation. The two associations agreed to increase exchanges, carry out pragmatic collaborations, and create a demonstrative model of regional cooperation in the science and technology association system.
During the forum, Zheng Jinping pointed out that the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta will be vastly beneficial to the national strategy of high-quality development in Shanghai and Zhejiang. The Association for Science and Technology has a unique advantage in promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. There is much to do, and much to achieve. Currently, Zhejiang Province is making every effort to become the province with the best ecosystem for talents. Ma Xingfa sincerely welcomed the Zhejiang Association of Science and Technology delegation and expressed his full support for Zheng Jinping's propositions for cooperation. He said that the next step will be for the two sides to improve cooperation mechanisms, strengthen communication, and reach an agreement on specific cooperations in order to promote Shanghai-Zhejiang cooperation to a new level.
At the World Laureates Association, Zheng Jinping and his delegation met with the association's secretary general Wang Hou to learn more about the 2019 World Laureates Forum. Zheng Jinping praised the success of the World Laureates Forum and said that the upcoming World Young Scientist (Wenzhou) Summit this year will make every effort to become an international high-end event and build a community of global youth technology innovation, which is in line with the World Laureates Association’s goals. He hopes that the two sides can collaborate on talent resources and summits to leverage one another’s advantages and form a strong win-win alliance. Wang Hou expressed complete agreement to Zheng Jinping’s intentions for cooperation. The World Young Scientist (Wenzhou) Summit will provide an important platform for young scientists in China and the world to exchange their ideas. The World Laureates Association will give the event its full support so that the summit becomes an event of international recognition in the Yangtze River Delta.
