INTRODUCTION

The theme of the 2021 World Young Scientist Summit is "Converging the World's
Talents, Creating a Better Future" while this year's issue is "Responsibility, Innovation,
Cooperation--Youth in Action for Sustainable Development Goals". It emcompasses
four sections, respectively Moments of Science, Dialogue with Future, Realizing
Dreams and Engaging for Sharing. There were more than 30 in-depth symposiums
that covered scientific frontiers such as climate change, life health, digital economy,
intelligent computation, future technology, peak carbon dioxide emissions, carbon
neutrality, new material and so on.

May 2021 lifted the curtain of the summit with series of activities. All together 13
world top scientists, 118 academicians and thousands of youth scientisits from 50+
countries, regions and international organizations attended its grand openning in
Wenzhou, China from November 13 to 14, 2021.

Yuzhuo Zhang (secretary of the Party Leadership Group, vice president in Charge of
Daily Work, and first secretary of the Secretariat of China Association for Science and
Technology), Hao Wang (vice secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee
and governor of Zhejiang), Xiaotao Liu (member of the Standing Committee of the
Zhejiang Provincial Party committee and secretary of the Wenzhou Municipal Party
Committee), and other leaders attended the summit and delivered speeches. Many
Nobel Prize, Turing Award winners, academicians of both Chinese Academy of
Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering delivered several keynote reports.
Leaders of relevant national ministries and commissions, representatives of relevant
embassies and consulates, representatives of international scientific and technological
organizations, representatives of well-known universities both home and abroad and
other scientists, entrepreneurs, artists and young scientific and technological talents
attended the summit online or offline.
