                                                                                                                                                           现在,世界上有 18 亿 10 到 24 岁之间的年轻人,是有史以来最庞大的年轻一代。他们中近 90% 生活在
                                                                                                                                                           发展中国家。如果我们真正想让他们充分发挥潜力,做出贡献,我们就要确保全世界的年轻人都有能力,并
                                                                                                                                                           有机会做出贡献。

                                                                                                                                                           我们必须打破阻止年轻女孩、残疾青年和其他边缘年轻人充分发挥潜力的有害社会歧视和偏见。


                                                                                                                                                           展望今后的 75 年,在日益复杂、彼此联系越来越密切的世界里,年轻人对科学进步的贡献将是保证全人
                                                                                                                                                           类拥有更美好未来的关键所在。


                                                                                                                                                           Today, there are 1.8 billion young people between the ages of 10 to 24, the largest generation
                                                                                                                                                           of youth in history.Close to 90% of them live in developing countries.If we truly want to reap the
                                                                                                                                                           benefits of their fullest potential, we need to ensure that all young people everywhere are enabled
                                                                                                                                                           and empowered to contribute.

                                                                                                                                                           We must break harmful social stigma and prejudices preventing our young girls, youth with
                                                                                                                                                           disabilities and other marginalized youth from fully reaching their full potential.


                                                                                                                                                           As we look ahead to the next 75 years, young people's contributions to scientific progress will
                                                                                                                                                           be the key to ensuring a better future for all in a world marked by ever increasing complexity and
                                                                                                                                                           interconnection.
