                                                                                                                                                           和红斑狼疮等疾病提供 RNA 方向的创新思路和理论框架,具有临床转化前景。未来,关于非编码 RNA
                                                                                                                                                           功能机制及应用研究,必将惠及于人民的生命和健康。

                                                                                                                                                           In 2011, it's widely believed in the academic community that the newly discovered tens of
                                                                                                                                                           thousands of long non-coding RNA molecules contained long tails, just like the known coding
                                                                                                                                                           RNAs in shape. But is there a new family of non-coding RNA molecules in the huge "genomic dark
                                                                                                                                                           matter"? Targeting the ribonucleic acid (RNA) at the forefront of science and technology, I've led a
                                                                                                                                                           team to study intensively and we've built a new research system as we try to find their metabolic
                                                                                                                                                           rules and functional mechanism.

                                                                                                                                                           In the last nearly ten years, we have theoretically revealed the complexity of transcriptomes and
                                                                                                                                                           the diversity and important functions of non-coding RNAs in mammals and explored a number
                                                                                                                                                           of new directions for non-coding RNA research. These have also provided innovative ideas and
                                                                                                                                                           theoretical frameworks in the direction of RNA for better understanding cell proliferation and
                                                                                                                                                           innate immune regulation and learning more about such diseases as Prader-Willi Syndrome and
                                                                                                                                                           lupus erythematosus, representing a promising prospect in clinical transformation. Going forward,
                                                                                                                                                           studies on the non-coding RNA functional mechanism and application are bound to benefit
                                                                                                                                                           people's lives and health.
