Michael Horton, the winner of the 2020 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, gave
a video presentation on "How the advancing medical science will be effective in
controlling diseases by the end of this century". He related how he spearated the
non-A, non-B hepatitis virus (later known as hepatitis C) from chimpanzee serum
and developed a blood test that was used with remarkable success in the 1990s for
patients with cirrhotic liver cancer.
